Methodology & sources

Every figure on Max Data Insights is computed from official Thai business registry data and published with the source and the date it reflects. We aim to be transparent enough that a reader can trace any number back to where it came from.

Where the data comes from

Core definitions

Registered company
A juristic person recorded in the registry, active or dormant.
Has filed financials
A company that has submitted at least one annual financial statement.
CAGR
Compound annual growth rate: the constant yearly rate that takes a value from its start to its end over a period.
HHI
Herfindahl-Hirschman Index: the sum of squared market shares, a standard measure of how concentrated a market is.
CR5 / CR10
The combined market share of the largest 5 or 10 companies in a sector.
TSIC section
The top level of the Thailand Standard Industrial Classification, grouping the economy into broad sectors.
