Large company count, total registered companies and large share per 5-digit TSIC code, as of 17 Jul 2026. The registry does not label 5-digit codes, so each is shown with its parent section.

How concentrated is the large-company map?

Of 1,228 codes in the registry, 737 hold at least one large company. That leaves 491 codes with none at all. Among the 737, 345 codes hold between one and five. At the other end, 31 codes hold 100 or more. The top 50 codes hold 6,884 large companies, or 49.62 percent of the total. The top 100 codes hold 9,130, or 65.8 percent. Half of Thailand's large companies fit inside about 4 percent of its industry codes.

Why this matters

Large companies are the buyers and suppliers that move whole supply chains. If you sell to them, you do not need to chase 737 codes. You need to understand a few dozen. Code 29309 is the sharpest example. It has 427 large companies among just 3,461 registered, a large share of 12.34 percent. Code 41002 runs the other way, with 229 large firms spread thin across 165,550 companies. A lender, a supplier or a policy team should read these two codes very differently, even though both rank near the top. Raw count shows where large firms gather. Large share shows where large firms define the market. Use both.

Assumptions

Methodology

Counts come from the Department of Business Development registry, aggregated by 5-digit TSIC code as of 17 July 2026, the computed date of the rows queried. A large company is one in the registry's large size band. The total of 13,875 large companies is the sum across all 1,228 codes and differs by one from the national size-band figure of 13,876. Shares are recomputed from raw counts. The registry carries no text labels for 5-digit codes, so only the section is named.
