Administrative and Support Companies in Thailand 2026
In short
Thailand counts 100,691 administrative and support companies as of 2 July 2026. That is 5.1 percent of all classified firms, the sixth largest sector by company count. Together they report about 1.10 trillion baht in revenue. Their net profit margin is a thin 4.33 percent. Sector revenue grew 62.4 percent across the past decade. This is the quiet machinery behind staffing, cleaning, security and call centres.
How big is the administrative and support sector?
Thailand registers 100,691 administrative and support companies as of 2 July 2026 (DBD, 2026). That count is 5.1 percent of the 1,986,489 firms sorted into an industry section, which makes this the sixth largest sector in the country by company population. These are the businesses other businesses hire to keep running: staffing agencies, cleaning contractors, security firms, call centres and facilities managers. Together they report about 1.10 trillion baht in revenue. Few people would name this sector if asked to list the biggest parts of the Thai economy, and yet it out-populates most of the industries that come to mind first.

Why this sector is worth watching
Two numbers make the case that this sector is healthier than its thin margin suggests. The first is survival. Administrative and support firms survive at 56.6 percent, well above the national rate of 50.0 percent, so a company here is more likely than the average Thai firm to still be trading years after it registers. The second is durability of demand. When a factory or a bank wants to cut costs, it often keeps the core and outsources the cleaning, the guarding and the phones, which pushes work toward exactly these firms. The margin is slim at 4.33 percent, and return on equity of 4.81 percent will not excite an investor chasing yield. The value sits elsewhere. This is a large, growing pool of companies that the rest of the economy quietly depends on, and its 62.4 percent revenue climb over the decade tracks the steady outsourcing of work that used to sit inside other firms.
Definitions
- Administrative and support services
- TSIC industry section N. It covers firms that supply support functions to other organisations, such as staffing, cleaning, security, call centres and facilities management.
- Classified firms
- Registered companies that carry an industry classification. The 5.1 percent share is measured against the 1,986,489 firms that are sorted into a section.
- Net profit margin
- Aggregate net profit as a share of aggregate revenue for the sector. A 4.33 percent margin means the sector keeps about 4.33 satang of profit for every baht of revenue.
- Return on equity
- Aggregate net profit as a share of shareholder equity, a measure of how much profit the sector earns on the capital its owners have put in.
- Return on assets
- Aggregate net profit as a share of total assets, a measure of how efficiently the sector turns its assets into profit.
- Survival rate
- The share of firms registered in the sector that remain active rather than dissolved or dormant.
Assumptions
- Revenue, margin and return figures reflect only companies that filed a financial statement, so non-filers do not contribute to those ratios.
- The sector share uses the 1,986,489 firms that carry an industry classification as the base, not the full national register.
- Revenue is reported at face value in the filed statements and is not adjusted for inflation across the ten-year window.
Methodology
Figures are drawn from the Department of Business Development registry of juristic persons in Thailand as of 2 July 2026, grouped by TSIC industry section N, administrative and support service activities. Company count covers registered firms classified into a section. Revenue, margin and return figures aggregate the filed financial statements of firms in the section, so companies that did not file do not contribute to those ratios. The survival rate compares still-active registrations against total registrations for the sector. The share of 5.1 percent is the sector count divided by the 1,986,489 firms that carry an industry classification. Revenue is reported in Thai baht.
How we verified this
- Count share recomputed: 100,691 divided by 1,986,489 equals 0.0507, which rounds to 5.1 percent, matching the stated share.
- Ten-year growth recomputed: 894.9 minus 551.1 equals 343.8, and 343.8 divided by 551.1 equals 0.624, which is the stated 62.4 percent.
- Reported revenue of about 1,098.5 billion baht was confirmed to round to 1.10 trillion baht.
- Survival rate of 56.6 percent was confirmed to sit above the national benchmark of 50.0 percent.
