Which province has the most companies?
Bangkok holds 812,799 registered companies, far ahead of any other province, according to Department of Business Development registry data (DBD, 2026). That single province accounts for 40.9 percent of the 1,989,709 companies registered nationwide. Chon Buri follows with 127,023, then Nonthaburi with 102,370 and Samut Prakan with 97,609. The gap between first and second place is more than six to one.

Why the map is so lopsided
The provinces that rank highest form a ring around Bangkok. Chon Buri, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Rayong and Ayutthaya carry the country's main industrial estates and ports, so companies register where the factories and logistics sit. Outside this central belt, Chiang Mai and Phuket lead their regions on the strength of tourism and services. The rest of Thailand, meaning every province except Bangkok, holds 1,176,910 companies between them, just over half the national total.

- A juristic person recorded in the national business registry, regardless of whether it is currently trading.
- Province share
- A province's company count divided by the national total of registered companies.
Assumptions
- Each company is attributed to the province of its registered address, which may differ from where it operates.
- Revenue totals cover only companies that have filed a financial statement.
Methodology
Company counts are the number of registered juristic persons whose registered address falls in each province, drawn from the DBD registry as of 2 July 2026. Revenue is the sum of the latest reported annual revenue for companies in that province that have filed a financial statement. Provinces with no province code are excluded. Counts reflect registrations recorded up to the as-of date.
