In short

Thailand added 128,617 new companies in 2025, which works out to about 352 a day as of 2 July 2026. That is one fresh registration roughly every four minutes, around the clock. The daily rate has run above 300 every year since 2021. The record still belongs to 2021, when 151,205 new companies arrived, about 414 a day. Formation has grown at roughly 8.4 percent a year since 2007. The register now holds 1,989,709 companies in total.

How many new companies does Thailand add each day?

About 352 a day. Thailand registered 128,617 new companies in 2025 (DBD, 2026), and dividing that by 365 days gives a rate of roughly 352 every day. Put another way, a new company joins the register about once every four minutes, counted around the clock. The pace is not a one-off spike. Formation has topped 300 a day every year since 2021, and it has grown at a compound rate near 8.4 percent a year since 2007, when just 30,227 companies were registered. New companies now enter faster than at almost any point on record, and they push the total register toward two million.

Why the daily rate matters

A daily formation rate is a live pulse on confidence. When people expect to make money, they file paperwork and start companies, and 352 a day is a firm signal that Thai founders keep betting on formal business. The dip after 2021 tracks a harder stretch for small business, and the recovery through 2024 and 2025 shows appetite returning without yet beating the record. There is a quieter lesson underneath. Roughly 352 companies form every day, but only about half of the near two million on the register ever show an active trading signal, so a birth rate this high also feeds a large stock of dormant shells. The flow is healthy. The question for the next few years is how much of it survives past the first filing.

Definitions

New registration
A juristic person newly entered into the Department of Business Development registry in a given year. It counts the act of registering, not whether the company later trades.
Daily formation rate
The annual number of new registrations divided by 365 days. It is an average across the calendar year, not a count for a specific day.
Compound annual growth rate
The steady yearly rate that would carry a starting value to an ending value over a set number of years. Here it links 30,227 registrations in 2007 to 128,617 in 2025 across 18 years.
Dormant company
A company still listed on the register that shows no active trading signal, such as a recent financial filing.

Assumptions

Methodology

New company counts are annual totals of newly registered juristic persons in the Department of Business Development registry, read as of 2 July 2026. The daily rate divides each annual total by 365 days and is rounded to the nearest whole company, so it is an average across the calendar year rather than a count for any single day. The compound annual growth rate compares 2007 with 2025 across 18 years. Totals count registrations, which is not the same as companies still trading.
