Thai Industry Codes That Vanished From the Register, 2015 to 2025

Updated 18 September 2026Data as of 14 August 2026Verified

In short

Thirty two five-digit Thai industry codes had companies filing financial statements in 2015 and produced zero filers by 2025, as of 14 August 2026. Together these codes carried 625 filers in 2015. Construction code 41000 alone accounts for 251 of them, the single largest drop in the group. Construction supplies six of the 32 vanished codes, more than any other section. The typical vanished code stopped filing back in 2017, eight years before this snapshot. Yet 1,131 companies stay registered under these codes today, and only 15.03 percent are still active, far below the registry average of 50.0 percent.

Which industry codes went completely dark?

Thirty two five-digit TSIC codes carried a filed financial statement in the 2015 statement year and then produced not one filing by 2025 (DBD, 2026). Code 41000, general construction of buildings, is the largest of the group, with 251 companies filing in 2015. Code 42900, another construction code, follows at 64. Code 70200, a professional services code, held 52. Code 35100, an electricity code, held 28. Code 49330, a transport code, held 17. Those five codes alone carry 412 of the 625 total filers lost, 65.9 percent of the whole group. Construction supplies six of the 32 vanished codes, more than any other section. Transportation and storage supplies five. Wholesale and retail trade, administrative and support, and manufacturing each supply four.

Five-digit TSIC codes with a filed statement in 2015 and zero filed statements in 2025, as of 14 Aug 2026.

Why an empty industry code is worth tracking

A code with zero filers is not the same as a code with zero companies. 1,131 companies still carry one of these 32 codes on the register today, but only 170 of them, 15.03 percent, remain active, next to a 50.0 percent active share across the whole registry. Most of the damage happened years ago rather than recently. Twenty nine of the 32 codes had already stopped filing by 2018, and the median code's last filing was 2017. Only three codes held on past 2020, and one of those, code 03224 in agriculture, filed as recently as 2024 before going quiet. Nation Thailand reported that construction, real estate, electrical installation and advertising logged the highest volume of business dissolutions in the first half of 2026, and construction is exactly where this list is heaviest too, with six of the 32 vanished codes (Nation Thailand, 2026). A sibling page on this site found seven codes that went the opposite way, from zero filers in 2015 to real clusters by 2025. Read together, the two lists show the same registry breathing in and out. Some narrow trades are still being born inside Thailand's classification system while others are quietly going extinct, often in the same construction-heavy corner of the economy.

Definitions

Five-digit TSIC code
The most granular level of Thailand's Standard Industrial Classification, sitting beneath the 21 broad lettered sections. This dataset does not carry a public name for each five-digit code.
Filed companies in a year
The count of companies that submitted a financial statement for that statement year under a given industry code. Zero here means no such filing that year, not necessarily zero registered companies.
Vanished code
A five-digit TSIC code that had at least one filed financial statement in the 2015 statement year and zero filed statements in the 2025 statement year.
Buddhist calendar year
Thailand's official calendar, which runs 543 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar. Statement year 2558 is 2015 and statement year 2568 is 2025.
Entity count
The total number of companies currently registered under a code, active and inactive combined, as of the latest snapshot rather than a single filing year.
Active company
A company the registry currently classifies as operating, as opposed to inactive or dissolved.
Survival rate
The share of a code's currently registered companies that are active, calculated as active companies divided by total registered companies for that code.

Assumptions

Methodology

A code counts as vanished when the aggregate filings table carries a company count greater than zero for statement year 2558, which is 2015 on the Gregorian calendar, and either no row or a company count of zero for statement year 2568, which is 2025, as of 14 August 2026. The 2569 statement year, 2026 Gregorian, is excluded because its filings are still incomplete. Section, entity count, active count and survival rate for each code are drawn from the current aggregate snapshot rather than a single filing year, so a code can show registered companies today even after its filings stopped. Data comes from the Department of Business Development registry aggregated by five-digit TSIC industry code and statement year.
