Average Revenue Per Company in Thailand 2026
In short
The average Thai company reports about 61.8 million baht in revenue as of 2 July 2026. That number is a mirage. It comes from spreading 76.6 trillion baht of reported revenue across 1,239,700 companies that filed a statement. A small set of giants drags the mean upward. About 75.3 percent of all companies are micro-sized, so the typical firm earns far below 61.8 million baht. The average describes almost no one.
What is the average revenue of a company in Thailand?
The direct answer is about 61.8 million baht per company as of 2 July 2026 (DBD, 2026). It comes from one division: 76,623,676,606,250 baht of total reported revenue over 1,239,700 companies that filed a financial statement. Read on its own, that figure suggests a nation of solid mid-sized firms. It is a statistical trick of the light. The mean gets yanked upward by a thin layer of very large companies, while the great majority of registered firms sit far below it. About 75.3 percent of all companies are micro-sized, which means the median company earns a small fraction of the average. When three quarters of the room is that small, the average stops describing the typical case and starts describing the gap between the giants and everyone else.

Why this matters
Averages set expectations, and this one is set wrong. A lender who benchmarks a loan file against 61.8 million baht in revenue is measuring most applicants against a bar almost none of them clear. Manufacturing runs the highest average at 109.2 million baht per firm, driven by heavy fixed assets and export scale. Financial and insurance sits close behind at 105.1 million baht, because a few large institutions carry enormous books. Wholesale and retail averages 48.8 million baht across 715,976 companies, the single largest population in the registry, so its middle is far thinner than the mean suggests. Construction and real estate land near 8 million baht per company, a reminder that project-based work spreads revenue across many small entities. For grants, tax design, and market sizing, the honest move is to lead with the distribution and treat the average as a headline that hides the shape underneath. The mean is one number. The economy it summarizes is at least two: a small tier of giants, and a very large tier of firms that look nothing like the average.
Definitions
- Average revenue per company
- Total reported revenue divided by the number of companies. Here it is a mean across all reporting firms, so it rises when a few very large companies are present.
- Mean versus median
- The mean is the total divided by the count. The median is the middle value. When a few firms are very large, the mean sits well above the median, and the median better describes the typical company.
- Reporting company
- A registered company that filed a financial statement for the period. Companies that did not file are not counted in these averages.
- Micro-sized company
- The smallest company size band in the registry, defined by low revenue and headcount. Micro firms make up about 75.3 percent of all companies.
Assumptions
- Only companies that filed a financial statement contribute to any average, so non-filers are excluded.
- Averages are aggregate means, total revenue divided by company count, not simple averages of individual company revenues.
- The 75.3 percent micro-sized share is drawn from the company size distribution and is used only to explain the gap between the mean and the median.
- Sector totals are stated in billions of baht in the source and recomputed to a per-company figure here.
Methodology
Average revenue per company is total reported revenue divided by the number of companies that filed a financial statement in the Department of Business Development registry as of 2 July 2026. The national figure divides 76,623,676,606,250 baht by 1,239,700 filers. Sector figures divide each sector's total reported revenue by its own company count. Only companies with a filed statement contribute. These are aggregate means, not medians, so they are sensitive to a small number of very large firms. Company counts by size are used to show that 75.3 percent of companies are micro-sized.
How we verified this
- National average recomputed from raw values: 76,623,676,606,250 / 1,239,700 = 61.81 million baht, which rounds to the stated 61.8 million baht.
- Manufacturing average recomputed: 25,161,526,995,979 / 230,396 = 109.21 million baht, matching the stated 109.2 million baht.
- Wholesale and retail recomputed: 34,929.4 billion / 715,976 = 48.79 million baht, matching the stated 48.8 million baht.
- Ordering confirmed: manufacturing at 109.2 and financial and insurance at 105.1 both sit above the 61.8 million baht national average, while construction at 8.1 and real estate at 8.3 sit far below it.
