Thailand's Fastest-Growing Industry Codes by Filing Base 2026
In short
Pet care activities grew their filing base 77.97 percent between 2022 and 2025, the fastest of any named Thai industry code, as of 14 August 2026. Physical therapy clinics followed at 76.26 percent, specialized medical clinics at 59.43 percent, and dental clinics at 55.04 percent. All four sit inside Thailand's health and wellness cluster. The whole economy's filing base grew just 5.93 percent over the same three years, so these four codes expanded nine to thirteen times faster than the national pace.
Which named Thai industries grew fastest?
Pet care activities top the list. Companies filing a financial statement under this single five digit code, TSIC 96302, rose from 118 in 2022 to 210 in 2025, a 77.97 percent gain in just three years (DBD, 2026). Physical therapy clinics come next, growing their filing base 76.26 percent over the same window, from 139 companies to 245. Specialized medical clinics rose 59.43 percent, from 1,299 to 2,071 filers. Dental clinics rose 55.04 percent, from 674 to 1,045. Every one of these four codes sits inside Thailand's health and wellness cluster, and every one of them expanded nine to thirteen times faster than the national filing base, which rose only 5.93 percent across the same three years. Two categories grew even faster than all four. One is an unnamed recreation code driven largely by an online gaming company. The other is astrology and divination services. Veterinary clinics land in between the specialized medical and dental clinic figures, up 56.31 percent over the same three years.

Why a health and pet boom that isn't profitable yet still matters
None of these four codes are giants of Thai business. Pet care carries just 379 total registrations since the code was created. Physical therapy clinics carry 411. Specialized medical clinics and dental clinics run larger, at 2,926 and 1,518 registrations respectively, but even those totals are tiny next to sectors that count registrations in the hundreds of thousands. The growth rate still tells a real story. Thailand's population is aging, and rising household income is pushing more Thai families to treat physiotherapy and specialist medical care as routine spending rather than emergency spending. The pet side follows a pattern researchers call pet humanization, where owners treat animals as family members and pay for grooming, boarding and specialty veterinary care that would once have been skipped entirely, a shift Kasikorn Research Center has tracked across Thailand's broader pet economy (Kasikorn Research Center, 2024). None of the four has turned this growth into strong profit yet. Dental clinics kept a positive aggregate net margin of 2.41 percent. Physical therapy clinics, specialized medical clinics and pet care companies each ran an aggregate net loss as of 14 August 2026. A fast filing base and a profitable industry are not the same thing. The health and wellness boom inside Thailand's company registry is, for now, a story about company count rather than company earnings.
Definitions
- TSIC
- Thailand Standard Industrial Classification, a five digit code system that assigns every registered company one primary industry activity, built on the international ISIC standard.
- Filing base
- The count of companies that filed a financial statement for one specific statement year under a given industry code, rather than the total number of companies ever registered under that code.
- 5-digit code
- The most detailed level of TSIC classification. The source database does not publish a name for individual 5-digit codes, so names here were matched against Thailand's official TSIC 2009 classification list.
- Statement year
- The fiscal year a filed financial statement covers, recorded in the source data using the Buddhist calendar. Statement year 2565 equals calendar year 2022, and statement year 2568 equals calendar year 2025.
- Net margin
- Aggregate net profit divided by aggregate revenue for all companies under a code that have filed a financial statement, across the code's full filing history.
- Pet humanization
- A consumer trend in which pet owners treat animals as family members and spend on grooming, boarding and specialty veterinary care beyond basic upkeep.
Assumptions
- Filing base counts companies that filed a financial statement for the specific statement year, so a company that files late or skips a year moves in and out of the count.
- Only TSIC codes with at least 50 filers in 2022 were ranked, to avoid tiny bases producing distorted growth percentages.
- Net margin and total registration figures reflect each code's full filing history as computed by the registry, not the 2025 statement year alone.
- 5-digit TSIC code names are not published in the source database. Names used here were matched against Thailand's officially published TSIC 2009 classification list.
- Statement years follow the Buddhist calendar in the source data. Statement year 2565 equals calendar year 2022 and statement year 2568 equals calendar year 2025.
Methodology
Filing base counts come from the Department of Business Development registry's five digit TSIC industry table, where each row records how many companies filed a financial statement for a given statement year under one industry code. Statement years in the source data follow the Buddhist calendar, so statement year 2565 is calendar year 2022 and statement year 2568 is calendar year 2025. Growth rates compare these two years directly. Only codes with at least 50 filers in 2022 were ranked, so the analysis excludes tiny codes where a handful of new filings would produce a triple digit growth rate that means nothing. The five digit TSIC codes examined here are not named inside the underlying dataset. Their names were matched against Thailand's officially published TSIC 2009 classification list. Net margin and total registration figures reflect each code's full filing history, not the 2025 statement year alone. Data drawn from the registry as of 14 August 2026.
How we verified this
- 210 minus 118 equals 92, and 92 divided by 118 equals 0.7797, confirming pet care filing base grew 77.97 percent from 2022 to 2025.
- 245 minus 139 equals 106, and 106 divided by 139 equals 0.7626, confirming physical therapy filing base grew 76.26 percent.
- 2071 minus 1299 equals 772, and 772 divided by 1299 equals 0.5943, confirming specialized medical clinic filing base grew 59.43 percent.
- 1045 minus 674 equals 371, and 371 divided by 674 equals 0.5504, confirming dental clinic filing base grew 55.04 percent.
- 715339 minus 675284 equals 40055, and 40055 divided by 675284 equals 0.0593, so the national filing base across every TSIC code grew 5.93 percent over the same three years.
- The four codes combined moved from 2230 filers in 2022 to 3571 in 2025, a jump of 1341, and 1341 divided by 2230 equals 0.6013, so the combined group grew 60.13 percent.
- Sorting all 688 TSIC codes with at least 50 filers in 2022 by growth rate placed an unnamed recreation code first at 95.00 percent, astrology and divination services second at 79.71 percent, pet care third, physical therapy fourth, specialized medical clinics fifth, veterinary activities sixth at 56.31 percent, and dental clinics seventh.
