How big is business in the Eastern Economic Corridor?
Three provinces east of Bangkok carry a share of the economy far larger than their number suggests. Chon Buri, Rayong and Chachoengsao together hold 173,905 registered companies as of 2 July 2026 (DBD, 2026). Set against the national count of 1,989,709 companies, that works out to 8.7 percent. The revenue tells a heavier story. These firms reported 7.86 trillion baht in revenue, which is 10.3 percent of the 76.62 trillion baht booked by every company in Thailand. The gap between those two shares is the whole point. A company registered in the EEC turns over roughly 45.2 million baht on average, against 38.5 million baht for the country as a whole. Why the imbalance matters
The corridor was built to concentrate industry, and the registry shows it worked. Rayong makes the case most sharply. It holds just 33,083 companies, a small fraction of the national roll, yet those firms earn 3.22 trillion baht, almost matching Chon Buri with a quarter of the company count. That is the signature of large petrochemical, automotive and manufacturing operations rather than a dense field of small shops. Chon Buri carries the volume, with 127,023 companies and 3.79 trillion baht, nearly half of all EEC revenue on its own. Chachoengsao is still the junior partner at 0.85 trillion baht, the province where the corridor has the most room left to grow. For anyone mapping where Thai industrial money is actually made, these three provinces are the first place to look, and the concentration here is a deliberate feature of national policy, not an accident of geography (EEC Office of Thailand, 2023).

Methodology
Company counts and revenue are aggregated from the Department of Business Development registry of juristic persons as of 2 July 2026. The Eastern Economic Corridor is defined as the three legally designated provinces of Chon Buri, Rayong and Chachoengsao. Revenue reflects the latest filed financial statements for companies registered in each province. Provincial figures are summed to the EEC total and compared against the national total. Shares are computed directly from these raw counts and revenue sums. Revenue is stated in trillions of baht and rounded to two decimals.
